Great Things are
Created in Detroit
Often referred to as the "Paris of the Midwest," Detroit is home to some of the country's finest architecture. With legendary architects such as Albert Khan, Minoru Yamasaki, Wirt Rowland and John Portman leading the way, Detroit's beautifully designed, world-class landmarks are not only visually appealing, they also tell the story of the city's rich history. We are proud to be located in Chrysler House, a stunning skyscraper dating back to 1912, designed in the neoclassical style by Daniel Burnham.
MUFI is a nonprofit organization that uses Michigan's vacant land to engage community members in a movement of mass sustainable agriculture. They attempt to address issues of food insecurity, dietary limitations, vacant land, and nutritional knowledge. It's green, pays close attention to socioeconomic struggles, and allows the community to set the terms of their city's enrichment. It also provides them with highly beneficial skills and food.
For several years, bicycle shops have begun making their mark in the Motor City. Detroit Bikes are the only bikes that are completely manufactured in Detroit. With a factory on the west side, their mission is to "encourage cycling by making an accessible, enjoyable bicycle while continuing Detroit's legacy of quality manufacturing and design." They do this by producing as many as 100 bicycles a day.
While there are one-of-a-kind works of art, sculptures, murals and statues across the city of Detroit, you'll find something truly special and unique downtown in the art-filled alley known as 'The Belt.' The public art experience, created by Bedrock Real Estate Services and Library Street Collective, features murals by some of the best street artists in the world. Strings of lights and a cobblestone walkway add to the charming, mysterious atmosphere. What was once just an alley has been transformed into a magical place where inspiration can grow and creativity can be nurtured.
